6 Qs for Stefan Damicolas of Brother Ape

Brother Ape has just finished mastering their new album Turbulence and Stefan Damicolas, the band’s lead vocalist and composer, kindly agreed to answer my questions.

Who are your musical influences?

We have an ocean of influences, Led zeppelin, Genesis, Pat Metheny, Karsh Kale, Cat Stevens to name a few.

What has Brother Ape been up to lately?

We have just finished the mastering of our new album “Turbulence”. The release date will be announced any day now.

What’s your favorite song to perform live?

It’s hard to say but maybe “Turbulence” from the new album.

How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?

We started as a plain hard rock band several years ago. Then we came into progressive 70′s and then jazz and now it’s a mixture of everything combined with some drum and bass beats.

If you could play a concert with a band of your choice, who would it be?

Any band, I guess. Playing with Led Zeppelin would be cool though…

What’s your favorite board game? Hmm, backgammon ?
