Day 1 of Summer’s End ended with yours truly seeing more of Glouchester than I had intended to. My sat nav was refusing to locate my hotel and I ended up having to find the M5 and then following my printed directions from there. Something which added an extra hour to my already late night. It did not help that the people in the next room having just retired from the bar decided to continue the partying for an additional hour.
During Summer’s End I was introduced to AmazingWilf, an all around great guy and the man behind the European Perspective. His latest issue is now available here and I will let him describe the contents in his own words.
The new album from progressive rock supergroup The Tangent, "Down And Out In Paris And London", is due out next month. The Tangent's PR machine has released a promotional trailer including a soundtrack featuring a edited version of the 20 minute epic "Where are they now?".

I have to confess that I did not know what to expect from Summer’s End. I am fairly new to the whole prog scene, you see. As a child of the 70s I missed out on the first wave of progressive bands like King Crimson, Yes and Genesis. It was only a couple of years ago when a colleague, who happened to play in a prog band, peeked my interest in exploring this genre of music. His band, Tinyfish, was due to play at Summer’s End 2007, and he played me a couple of tracks of their Summer’s End promotional cd. Since then I have been hooked. Thanks Rob.
Summer’s End 2009 was a great experience and you may have noticed a pattern in my last couple of 6 Qs. Next up is Dave Cureton guitarist (and more) with I/O Earth.

Godsticks had the honor of opening Saturday at Summer’s End and gave a great performance. I am looking forward to hearing more from this Welsh band in the future. Their singer/guitarist/keyboardist Darran Charles is my next subject.
