Tinyfish – The Big Red Spark

Last autumn I was approached by Rob Ramsay, Chief Audience Frightener of Tinyfish, regarding the possibility of contributing to their new album. I say approached, but it was not really a big effort for Rob as we work for the same company, in fact his desk is less than two meters from mine.

My initial thought was that my singing in the office had finally paid off and I was about to get my break into show business. Alas this was not to be. As you might have noticed if you are a regular reader of my blog, I am a hobby photographer and progressive rock fan. A couple of years ago I combined my hobbies and started taking photos at gigs.

I started posting my photos on the Tinyfish forum and got positive feedback from the other members of the forum. And as it turns out the band itself liked them too.

And this was the reason that Rob approached me. He asked me if I would be interested in shooting some photos for the album they were recording. As I am the biggest Tinyfish fan there is I said yes.

During the shoot in December 2009 I took roughly 1700 photos. These were dispatched to Jim Sanders, the bands guitarist who makes his living as a freelance designer.

In three weeks time, 10 September 2010, the album will be launched at the Luminaire in London. I am really looking forward to seeing what Jim has done with my photos.

In the meanwhile here is a poster which I created for the band.
